THE JOURNEY (2022)

The Journey (2022), is a vocal and ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) composition created with, and written for, the sculpture by Steinunn Thorarinsdottir of the same name. This piece is about the tactility of sculpture and our position when engaging with it. The materials, the surfaces - combined with the setting or location - create the visceral reaction to an object that many experience through sculpture. My intention with this poem, this discourse, was to combine the tactility of the object with some thought for the imagined sentience of this object and its journey as a piece of art.
