ABOUT
I am a multimedia and sound artist specialising in multisensory installations that explore the intersections of performance, installation, and soundscape design. My work encourages audience participation, transforming them into active performers and listeners. I seek to provoke and challenge perceptions, finding beauty in contrasting and harsh sounds to invite reflection on space, objects, and themes.
My academic background, including an M.Mus in Critical and Experimental Composition and a BA (Hons) in Liberal Arts with a major in Music from the University of Leeds, has profoundly influenced my approach. I am also a practising experimental percussionist and performance artist which both greatly influence the main area of my installation work..
Provocation is of the utmost importance throughout my work with the intention of asking questions to the listener. Another area of my practice focuses on the intersection of playfulness and communication and involves probing the boundaries between performance, interaction and listening within my installation work. More recently, I have been developing the sculptural aspect of my practice, along with co-creative processes from community artwork developed in workshops and drop-in sessions.
The artists that I align my practice with and take the most inspiration from include Bill Fontana, Zimoun and David Monacchi. Be it the scale, style or impact of their work, I have taken a large amount on board in pushing the boundaries of my installation and working to combine multiple sensory experiences to have the most impact on audiences.
